Roseola who?

Friday evening my 2 year old daughter came home with a fever, I'm talking 100.2, 99.8, 101.6, 103.1, 102.9 and 104.2. These are all the readings I got from the time she got home at 5 until she went to sleep. My children are really healthy and don't get anything more than a runny nose. So I was really worried about whatever her body was trying to fight off.

I rotated Motrin & Tylenol all night long and she would finally drift off to sleep at 11pm. Although she was burning up to the touch she was still Nori. Fussing with and at her brother, running around, jumping on the sofa and making demands.  I was all set to cancel my Saturday and stay home with her but she was still her normal self so I packed her meds in my purse and we ran errands. The show did go on...

Funning it up in Target, it's our favorite store.

These two, are two peas in a pod.

Sunday morning the temperature was gone just like that. While I was all ready to celebrate I noticed that Nori now had bumps on her arms. DO PEOPLE STILL GET CHICKEN POX? My immediate worry was that she had chicken box, that would totally turn my house upside down. After talking to the pediatrician I find out my girl has Roseola.  WHAT THE OLA!

I've never heard of Roseola in my life but after posting to my Mom's group it gave me comfort to know several of their kids had gotten it in the past as well. Great we aren't an anomaly! The rose colored bumps tend to pop up on their trunks (arms & legs). She had most of them on her arms and only a couple on her legs. I had already decided Monday would be a sick day. Since we are home why not make the best of our day. So we did.

Morning cuddles in my bed while watching Sprout.

Salon treatment thanks to Shampoo, Set, Go! Pre wash - post wash - puff ball

She fell asleep on this puff ball and her hair is dry now. lol
Lunch time with Mommy & Auntie

Nori & Auntie at lunch! Good girl time.

It's now day 5 of Nori's roseola and day 3 with her bumps. She spent the day with Daddy but I'm sure it wasn't as fun as her day with Mommy. hahahahaha Her bumps are healing and should be gone by the weekend. THANK GOD!

    1. You are welcome, I had no idea. I'm trying to put some light on something that seems rather common yet its not discussed.

  2. I have not heard of Roseola, but it's good that you were able to know what the issue was. Good to see that your little girl was feeling better!

    1. Thanks Nicoyle, I thought I was well in the know until this came about. Now I can add this to my book of knowledge. She is back to normal and her bumps are gone.
